Our Values
We believe that the key to any successful company is budgeting and cash flow management, and for there to be an accurate budget it is important that the accounting records are precise. Too often we have come across accounting errors that have had a significant impact on a company’s records, due to the lack of sound financial management.
Smith & Rossi (Pty) Ltd was formed with the following principles:

Tamzin Smith, CA (SA)
Tamzin completed her undergraduate degree at UCT and her postgraduate degree at UNISA, while completing her articles at RSM in Cape Town. She wrote Board 1 and Board 2 with a first-time pass for both, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant at the beginning of 2016.
Tamzin was an audit supervisor for three months before going commercial into the agricultural and manufacturing industry. Her experience during articles was across various industries, including but not limited to; non-profit organisations, manufacturing, financial services, estate agencies and attorney trusts.
When Tam is not working she is either horse riding or enjoying a glass of wine with friends.

Jean Rossi, CA (SA)
Jean completed her undergraduate degree at UCT and her post graduate degree at UNISA while completing her articles at Grant Thornton in Cape Town. She obtained a first time pass for Board 1 and Board 2, qualifying at the end of 2015. After articles, she became audit manager at PKF Constantia Valley for a year, thereafter working as an audit manager at Grant Thornton Zurich in Switzerland. Jean is of Swiss descent and therefore can assist in both German and English.
Jean has had exposure to a variety of industries, including but not limited to; retail, education, the motor industry, logistics and property investment.
Jean has been working remotely for Smith and Rossi in Switzerland since September 2021 while enjoying the beauty Switzerland has to offer.

Caitlin Pharo, Senior Account Manager
After 13 years experience in the Freight Forwarding industry, Caitlin took a leap into a new career path and joined Smith & Rossi in 2021, when she started her accounting studies.
Born and raised in Durban, Caitlin moved to Cape Town in 2013 and being on the doorstep to so many wine farms, quickly realised this was where she was meant to be. She loves hiking, trail running, and of course tasting all the different wines that the Western Cape has to offer.
Nothando Mbhele, Tax Administrator & Account Manager
Nothando, a native of Richards Bay, is a driven young female in the field of finance. She kick-started her journey by earning her Bcom Accounting degree from the University of Zululand. Eager to specialize further, she continued her education at the University of Cape Town, where she pursued her Bcom Honours in Taxation.
With a keen interest in taxation, Nothando took the next step in her career in 2022. She joined Smith and Rossi, where she applies her knowledge and passion for tax.
